This is my watercolour painting Dore bay of Manokwari city. I made this painting in 2011. Now it is in the collection of Gosewisch family in the Netherlands. The painting depicts the calm water of Dore bay (locally called Teluk Doreri) with the clear blue of Arfak mountains. In the picture, there is an outriggered boat at the beach and a wooden boatwreck in the shallow water of the bay. The outriggered boat is placed on wooden supports to allow the owner to do repair works and to prevent it from drifting to open sea during high tide.
When I painted the bay, I did not have access to thick paper. I only used the drawing paper that was available in that town at that time. When I applied water on the painting, it warped the paper as shown in the following picture.
